What if I do not have the Harman Kardon radio in my 2018 2019 Subaru Outback
How to Tell if You Have a Harman Kardon Radio in Your Subaru Outback (2018–2019)
It’s not always obvious whether your Subaru has a Harman Kardon (HK) radio. Here’s how to tell:
1. Look for the Badges
If you see Harman Kardon badges on the speaker grilles (usually on the front doors), then your car has the premium HK sound system—including both the HK radio head unit and amplifier.

2. No Badges? You Might Still Have HK
Even if you don’t see the badges, you could still have a radio made by Harman Kardon. Subaru used HK radios in some mid- and upper-trim models, even when the full premium audio package wasn’t installed.
3. Check Under the Volume Knob
The fastest way to confirm: Look just below the volume knob on your head unit. If you see a small square logo with horizontal lines (the HK mark), then your radio was made by Harman Kardon.

4. Amplifier Under Passenger Seat
If your vehicle has the full premium package, you’ll also have an amplifier mounted under the front passenger seat. If it's not there, you still might have the HK radio but not the full HK sound system.
